This area of the site provides facilities for joining or creating a pool,
as well as the opportunity to see a list of players in your pool or to
send messages to your pool at large. If you're an administrator, you'll also
find utilities for administrating your pool. Below, each option on
this menu is described and detailed.
Pool Participants Options
1. Join a Pool
After you've signed up, if you don't create your own pool,
you'll have to join a pool before you can start playing.
This is a 4-step process which walks you through joining a pool. If you've been
'invited' by email, and you've clicked on the link to Sign-Up-And-Join, you probably
won't see this page. Instead you'll be automatically joined into the pool
upon signup. If not, you'll join a pool with our process.
2. Create a Pool
A multi-step process, the create pool will prompt you for all the data we
need to create your pool. You'll be presented with a multitude of options.
Read them carefully because some of them cannot be changed after the pool
is created. When the process is completed, your pool will be created and you
will be the administrator.
3. Switch Pool or PickSet
You may elect to join more than one pool. In fact, you can participate
in more than one pool in more than one league. If you do, this is the page where
you'll toggle between them. Your CURRENT pool and pickset will display in the top banner.
4. Pool Rules
These are the pool-specific rules that your administrator had defined. These are not
the pool options as Office-Pools.com has given them, these are the specific rules that
your administrator has written out in freeform format.
5. Round Options
Each pool (if it isn't a bracket-style pool) is composed of a number of rounds.
For example, in professional and collegiate football, each round is a week's worth
of games. Your administrator has the option of choosing which of the games will
be the tie-breaker. Additionally, s/he can decide to opt for a higher score weighting
to be associated with any particular round.
Pool Administration
1. Change Rules
As the administrator, you may elect to have special rules associated with your
pool. For example, if you provide a round-by-round prize for winners, here's
where you'll define it. Use basic HTML tags for special formatting if you
want to communicate with bold type or bullets, etc. This page will display in
the "Pool Rules" link above.
2. Change Pool Options
Select all your specific pool OPTIONS here. Read these descriptions very
carefully because some options cannot be changed after the pool is created.
(they are denoted in green type). However, some options are re-configurable.
3. Change Round Options
As an administrator you can select which game in a particular round will
be the tie-breaker game, and what weighting will be used in score calculations
for the given round.
4. Login Message
Keep your pool particpants informed at all times. This message will display
to your pool members on the default page as soon as they log in.
